Neon and Led Lights – More Than You dream

Making your ride stand out is one of your top priorities. Custom taillights, body kits and fender flares can all add a dramatic look to your car. However, when the sun goes down, those details fade into the darkness. There are other options, though; you can light up your ride and the night. Neon tubes are just the tip of the iceberg as far as practice illumination goes!

So, you want to light up your car and absolutely make it pop? There are numerous ways to do so.

Neon: Neon tubes are the traditional choice for this task. You’ll find neon lights in any color that you can imagine. In addition, they are relatively easy to install, last for a decent number of time and are very affordable. Neon kits can be used to provide lighting under your car, for the overwhelming undercarriage glow. Placing a tube in front, one on each side and one in the rear will help give your ride definition and style.

Led Kits: Leds are the most recent technology in automotive lighting. Leds (Light Emitting Diodes) provide foreseen, longevity, as well as increased lighting brilliance for your car. You’ll find Led kits that can be installed in the same locations as neon tubes and will not burn out, get crushed by rocks or car lifts or build up moisture and short out. In addition, Led lights provide brighter illumination and are ready in a wide range of configurations. Strips, bars and singular lights can be used outside or inside your car to get the dramatic lighting that you want.

Wheel Lights: Wheel lights are Led lights that bond the inside of your wheel well. These strips and singular lights provide you with a great way to get added glow, as well as the best way to show off those new wheels.

Strobe Lights: You’ll find a wide array of strobe lights designed for automotive use. Install them with your headlights for an concentration grabbing effect, or put them inside and use them with a modulator to strobe with the beat of your tunes. Strobe lights come in colors from pink to white, blue, red and all things in between.

Neon Lights in Your Car

In order for habitancy to look nice they regularly do lots of things. Some tries to loose weight, women put some make-up but when it comes down to our car things can go on many directions. Starting from the model of the car of procedure and ending with the “make-up”.

One of the ways that are used today to make the car look good is by using lights. regularly these are Leds or neon lights.

Neon is a chemical element. It is a gas almost inert under normal circumstances. When used in vacuum tube it can be made to glow. In universe it is a very base element but in Earth it is not that easy to be found. regularly it is extracted from the air where it could be found in minimal amount. It gives a reddish glow and if we happen to see a lamp that is not with that particular color it is very likely that other gases have been used too.

In many movies today we can see these lights and how they look when used in a proper way. The prices on the store for these products are not too high and almost everyone can buy and use some of them to make its car special.

Neon Light Kits

One of the most foremost things when you use neon lights in the car is to choose the right color. Of procedure you will not need extra construct skills to do that. Just fantasize how your car will look with for example red lights. If your car is black this could be a very nice way to make it look good and no ifs ands or buts be noticed by everyone on the street.

Usually the normal neon lights are tubes that are set under the car. They illuminate the road under it and make it look like if it is flying with some engines that are emitting the light. The result is very good especially when red light is used. Of procedure if we want to make a cosmic-like sensation we can use blue lights instead. They are very base component too and can be found no ifs ands or buts on the market.

Some of the products are flexible and that can give you new ways to use them. You can set them in the back or front of you car where the place is not straight. Like this you can use a composition of those flexible units with some normal tubes. It will be a good idea to use only one color because when more then one are used it will regularly not look very good.

For example you can get one 4 piece under car kit in blue color and put under your car, then you will need the flexible units for the front and back and of procedure you can set some glowing wheel in front of you. You can use some mini neon glow tubes that are regularly 6 inches long. They can be set inside the car.

The limit is your imagination. On the store you can find everything you need.

Neon Gift Ideas

There are many average and run-of-the-mill gift ideas out there, but neon-based items are absolutely distinct and memorable. distinct adaptations to neon and Led light technology over the years have paved the way for some de facto fun and head-turning presents.

The most favorite form of neon gift would be the neon or Led sign. Neon signs come in all distinct shapes, sizes, and brands. There are patriotic signs for your country, signs for bars and restaurants, signs for states, cities and towns, signs for sports, drinks, hobbies, cars, games, you name it. The subjects are roughly limitless. There is a large interest in Route 66 neons and classic cars and diners. The vintage motion is great and they can be hung anywhere. Neon signs can be expensively priced into the hundreds or thousands of dollars, but you can find many good signs for under .

Neon Light Kits

Neon clocks are also great ideas. Clocks look best in bedrooms, gamerooms, and dens, and like neon signs, they come in a large variety of themes. There are billiards, automobiles, company logos, drinks, card games, sports players, sports teams, locations, etc. Some are just plain clocks with straightforward hour and microscopic hands, but have a de facto engaging singular or double ring neon border.

Neon posters are newer to the lighted gift scene and are very fun and different. These are the posters or painting murals that contain actual lights inside of the scene. Dark sky scenes are lit with neon or Led lightening bolts and stars. Or diners are lit up at night with microscopic neon signs and the car headlights glow as well. 50′s and 60′s Hollywood posters are popular, as are nostalgic bar scenes. There are also “moving” 3D neon posters with rotating backgrounds such as those favorite waterfall pictures you’ve probably seen.

Neon stands, or sculptures. These are neon or Led tubes twisted onto a display stand that sits on desks or tables. The biggest divergence between these and quarterly neon signs is that they are mobile, not mounted onto walls. They are generally cheaper than neon signs, but just as beautiful, especially in the pitch dark. The designs are just as discrete as the others, also together with animals, holidays, personal messages, companies, etc. These are similar to neon lamps, other great idea.

There are also hand-held neon items such as sports clubs and glowing hands, neon cell phone attachments, glow sticks, glow rings, and other glow jewelry. Other small items contain neon colored latex balloons and other party decoration items. Flexible neon light tubes are great for outdoor decorations and are very durable. Other gifts that are not de facto made of neon, but still have the glowing neon text contain t-shirts, mugs, ties, keychains, calendars, and other smaller items. Neon aquariums with engaging fish are pretty neat, though for some presuppose they lose their excitement sooner.

No neon gift list would be faultless without underbody auto light kits. These are the cool looking neon lights that glow underneath cars, trucks, and motorcycles. They make neon door deal with kits, headlights, side lights, steering wheel kits, and wheel light kits as well. Basically, if you want anyone on your car lit up, they make it, with either neon or Led.

This is just a small list of cool items made from neon. Most of these items are very afforded, many customizable as well. These are ideal gifts for sports fans and company owners, but there is always something ready for a neon lover of any interest.

Neon Signs vs El Wire Signs

Neon signs are great advertising for any business. Every neon sign made is handcrafted; despite the advancement in technology, the manufacturing of a sign just cannot be done by a machine. According to the form wanted, the artisan heats a glass tube into a pliable shape and then moulds the form and lettering as per the requirements. During this process of continuous heating and bending, air is let into the tube to utter its hollow shape. After the designing is done, the tubes are vacuumed out using a suction pump, after which an inert gas is let into the tube–this gas determines the color of the neon sign. The gas-filled tube glows when current is passed through it ionizing the gas, thus causing it to glow. Neon gas tubes do not include any filament like an lowly light bulb, so their life spans are very long, ranging from ten to fifteen years.

Smaller neon tube diameters are easier to bend into written works but are not as distinguishable from a distance. Larger tube diameters are more descriptive from a distance, and are more effective in illuminating store front letters, but cannot be roughly formed into smaller written applications. Larger diameter neon tubing is less brilliant.

Neon Light Kits

Because of the work involved, neon signs are ordinarily expensive.

What is an El-Wire sign? El-Wire (electroluminescent wire) is a cool running, flexible, lightweight, low power consumption light source. The wire itself has a copper core coated with phosphor and plastic. Around that plastic coated core are two ultra thin wires, and the whole assembly is encased in clear or colored plastic to give it color. El-Wire runs on an Ac current at 400-4000 hz, so you must attach it to an inverter or sequencer. Inverters and sequencers run on 1.5-12 Volts Dc, so you can get one small sufficient to fit in your pocket or one large sufficient to light your entire car or enterprise sign. There is a huge range of options ready in El-Wire, inverters, and sequencers so that you can use El-Wire nearly anywhere.

El Wire Signs can be created with in fine detail that you just can’t get with neon and no glass tubes to break. Signs can be powered by battery, solar, or wall plug. Any form can be used to generate a rugged, bright, and long lasting sign.

El wire signs are not as expensive, can be customized, do not get hot and are much lighter than customary neon signs, are flexible so any style of font can be used, can last for thousands of hours, and uses 1/10th of the power of a customary neon sign.

Installing Underglow Neon

Installing your own underglow neon kit is a fairly simple process. There are a few things you should know before taking on this project that can make or break your results.

The first thing to do is to get the car up on sturdy jackstands. Unpack all your materials, and go ahead and get some good zip ties and small wire conduit, as they will help in the installation. Look under the car on each side. We will start by placing the 2 largest bulbs on the sides. You want to find a good spot centered on the side of the car, but clear of the jack points. There is regularly a small lip just behind the side skirts or the side of the underbody. That is regularly the best placement for the bulbs. Some kits come with a reflective background. Make sure there is enough clearance to mount the bulbs and the reflective background without being able to see the bulbs from exterior the car. The bulb harnesses will come with self tapping screws that you can drill in place to collect the bulbs to the vehicle. Line up the bulbs and drill in the center harness. If you don’t have self tapping screws, drill some small pilot holes about 1/4 inch deep. collect the ends in place in the same manner and the side bulbs are secured.

Neon Light Kits

The rear and front bulbs may be a puny more tricky to find the right place to anchor them. You can regularly place them under the bumper cover, but I have found great success attaching them to the subframe using a join of zip ties zipped together. This allows the light to project forward from underneath the bumper. If the light is secured under the bumper cover, the bumper prohibits the light from shining outwards from underneath. whether way will work, but the previous method will give a great result.

The rear should be treated just like the front. Try to mount it in a location facing outwards where light will be able to get exterior of the bumper, but where you won’t see the bulbs. Zip ties work well here too. Once this is secured in place, its time to run the wires. I like to use small conduit for this as it gives a professional, clean installation. Zip tie the wires along the frame and bring them together underneath the car. attach them together (not the actual wires, but just bundled together) and run them up straight through the motor compartment in a slightly larger conduit so all 4 wires will fit. If you plan to mount the control box inside the car, you can run them inside the car as you would an amplifier customary cable. Otherwise, find a flat spot to mount your controller under the hood. collect it in place, and trim up any excess wiring. Attach the wiring, and run the customary power wires to the acceptable sources.

There is a switch that is mounted inside the vehicle. You can use the given switch, or choose to add a fighter style switch or other aftermarket switch. The in case, granted switches will look truly nice recessed into the dash, created a factory finish. I have been able to drill the right sized hole in the dash and place the switch next to other factory switches, which truly makes for a great install.

Neon Light Kits

For some people, a car is a means of vehicle and nothing more. As long as their car gets them from point A to point B and back again, has nice comfortable seats, a good sound ideas and a coffee mug holder, it serves all of its purposes well. And of course there are other drivers for which a car is much, much more — It can be an postponement of their personality or an object of their fixation. In this huge world of automotive accessories, there is no product that screams louder than the underbody light kit for this type of individual. If you consider cruising in your car is among your favorite hobbies and you relish the stares of pedestrians and fellow-motorists, then a under car light kit may be for you.

These lights, which mount to the body nearby the perimeter of the vehicle’s undercarriage, come in kits that comprise the elements you’ll need for installation. The “how to install under car lights” instructions that you’ll be directed to shortly, are fairly right forward, but since it requires drilling into the body of the car and colossal electrical work (depending on the kit you buy), it’s best left to the more experienced do-it-yourselfers. If this task seems a tiny too hard for you, rest assured that there is a growing amount of institution shops that perform this type of installation. If you do settle to take on the facility yourself, which anything can do with the correct instructions, be sure to purchase a kit that is compatible with your vehicle, and read and corollary the instructions that come with the kit carefully.

Ever wondered how long car lighting kits have been around? Well Hot Rods were the first cars to have undercar lighting installed on them, (although, the lights were nothing like they are today) back before import and export was a big commerce world wide. And today, thanks to the World Wide Web and the fact that import and export is now more ordinarily practiced throughout the world, they have come to be more favorite then ever before.

So this is the calculate why we set out to write up these “How to install under car lights” instructions, as they are *required* by habitancy like yourself.

Our team of dedicated shop & product Researchers and including myself, have spent an colossal amount of time & money installing under car kits from a range of manufacturers, and as a corollary after all this testing, we can now provide you with generic instructions on how to install under car lights on your vehicle. We also found after this total testing was carried out, that Plasmaglow had the best, “all round” car lighting products ready on the shop today, outlasting and out-performing the competition in every aspect, hence the calculate why we propose their products on the all-neon-car-lights.com website.

As a connected note, please keep in mind that the main issues we face with having neon or Led car lights on our vehicles these days is the fact that they are often frowned upon by the authorities. So to avoid any uninvited fines, its best to install neon lights under a car so as they can be activated through a cut off switch rather than having them come on when the headlights are turned on. To do this, you can run a power wire directly from the car battery to the kits operating switch, thus by-passing the vehicles headlight wires.

Testing a Transformer – How To Accurately Test A Transformer

There is two types of transformers in the market- linear transformer and switch mode power transformer. The transformers establish is different. Sometimes it is just referred as ac transformer. Linear transformer mostly used in radio, project kits, Vcd and etc while switch mode transformer can be found in Monitor, Tv, Fax and so on.

A transformer consists of two or more coils wound on the same core. For power transformers, the core material is usually iron. For a radio-frequency transformer, the core material is usually ferrite or air. The basic property of a transformer is to convert Ac voltage. A transformer cannot convert direct current voltage. A step down transformer has a lower Ac yield voltage at its secondary winding than the Ac input voltage to its former winding. Conversely, a step up transformer has a higher secondary than former voltage. The transformer laminations or coating of shellac, enamel or varnish is to insulate adjacent turns from shorts between winding. I will not go too details about how transformer work and transformer calculation as you can read more details from most electrical and electronic transformers books.

Neon Light Kits

How to test transformers: Transformer failures are relatively rare in most electronic equipment, compared with other components. If too much current goes through a coil or winding, the winding heats up and can whether open up completely, or the insulation between turns of wire can break down, causing the coil to be partly or wholly shorted.

Just like a coil, you can check continuity of any former or secondary transformer winding. The actual value of Dc resistance you read is rather meaningless, but at least you will know whether a winding is open. Checking linear transformer is quite straight forward. Apply the ac voltage to the former winding and expect yield voltage at the secondary side. No or low yield voltage means the transformer winding has open or shorted winding. Look for any evidence of overheating, such as darkened or blackened areas or a burnt smell.

About how to test a power transformer-it is a tiny bit complicated. You cannot apply ac voltage to the equipment and expect the desire yield at the secondary side without associate to load otherwise over voltage will happen (because you have removed all the secondary load) and will blow the power section which consist of power fet, pwm ic and etc. Switch mode power supply are designed to run with load while linear transformer can be test without load.

The best way to test a switch mode power transformer is first remove it from the board. Check only the former winding as secondary winding failures are exceedingly rare. How do we know which one is the former winding? Trace from the big filter cap the safe bet pin to see where the circuit goes. It will go to one of the pin of the transformer. Then look for the power fet middle pin which is the Drain and it will lead to an additional one pin of the transformer. This two pins is the former winding of the transformer. Checking the resistance of the former winding only can recite whether it is open but it cannot check if it has industrialized a shorted winding. Only by using a ringer test you will know if it shorted or not. A shorted turn in the former winding can cause the power section to blow.

The cheapest ringer tester that i came over is Dick Smith Lopt Meter or flyback tester. Just associate the probes to the former winding and the succeed are instantly seen from the Led bar graph. 4-8 bar characterize a good winding, 1-2 bar characterize partial short and if the led goes off means there is a heavy short in the winding. Also checking the transformer it can be use to check B+ Coil, horizontal yoke coil and flyback former winding and ballast (choke).

The costly ringer tester is from sencore equipment. Sencore Lc102 and Lc103C Also checking capacitor it also have the capability to check all kind of winding. whether it is a low voltage transformer, high voltage transformer, current transformer, pulse transformer, galvanic transformer, convention transformer this equipment will be able to check and test it.

If you do not wish to spend on this tester you may use a light bulb to check it. remove one of the former winding pin and associate a 60 watt light bulb. One end to the circuit while the other to the transformer pin. If the bulb light and didn’t goes off calculate a shorted winding and if the light goes off, the winding is ok.

Transformer fix is not easy and it require a good skill to do it. Most of the transformer repairer beloved to rewind bigger winding such as fan, car alternator and starter. Switch mode power transformer is a tiny bit difficult to rewind because of the small size and low price.
